BTR-152V1 Armored Personnel Carrier


March 23, 2006 - return to museum after full restoration

The first version of the BTR-152 wheeled armored personnel carrier was produced in 1950. The vehicle hull is of all-welded construction, engine and transmission are at the front of the vehicle. The crew consists of a driver and up to 18 infantry who normally board the vehicle through the rear entry hatch. The second model BTR-152 V1 (1957 year) had a front mounted winch, and a tire-pressure regulation system, which allowed the driver to adjust the pressure in accordance with local driving conditions. Production ended in 1962.

Museum example was using by East German Police (Volkspolizei) and since 1982 by Polish Police (Milicja). The armored roof its a field modification.
