BRDM Armored Amphibious Reconnaissance Vehicle

The BRDM four-wheel-drive amphibious scout car was introduced in 1957 and quickly accepted for service in the Soviet Army and the Warsaw Pact armies. Between the front and rear wheels, on both sides of the vehicle, are two belly wheels which are lowered by the driver to give the BRDM improved cross-country performance and also allows for ditch crossings.
