S-125 "Neva" (SA-3 "Goa") Medium Altitude Surface-to-Air Missile System

The S-125 "Neva" medium altitude surface-to-air missile system uses a two-stage, solid-fuel missile. The S-125 missile includes a large solid propellant booster with rectangular fins. The smaller main stage has an solid propellant sustainer motor and has four aft fixed fins and four forward movable control. Following booster jettison the missile is tracked by the systems radar with guidance signals sent to an antenna on the rear fins. Long-range surveillance and target acquisition is handled by the van-mounted P-15 radar.

On 27 March 1999, during the Kosovo War, the Yugoslav Army Missile Brigade, equipped with the S-125 "Neva" anti-aircraft missile system, downed a USAF Lockheed F-117A with a Neva-M missile.
