Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-17PF

The Soviet MiG-17PF night fighter it is a modification of MiG-17F day fighter. In the nose, it carried RP-5 "Izumrud" radar equipment to locate enemy aircraft in total darkness and fly into proper position to attack. Only 12 MiGs-17PF had been delivered to Polish Air Forces. The aircraft was produced under a licensing agreement in Poland (as Lim-5P). The WSK Mielec Lim-5P made its first flight on January 18, 1959, and when production ended on December 1960, a 129 Lim-5P had been produced for the Polish Air Force.
