WSK Swidnik (Mil) Mi-2P

Przylep Airfield - Mi-2P "1624" fly to Museum.
The first prototype of Mi-2 multipurpose
helicopter was tested on September 1961 in USSR. In 1963 a
decision was to start serial production of this helicopter in
Poland at WSK Swidnik. The first helicopter entirely made from
soviet parts was flown on August 26, 1965. First Mi-2 built at
Swidnik was flown on November 11, 1965.
From 1965 till present a total number 5450 Mi-2 helicopters are
produced in passenger (Mi-2P), ambulance, agricultural, military
and many special versions. The military version carried guns,
rocket launchers,anti aicraft and anti tank guided missiles.
