WSK Mielec (Mikoyan G.) Lim-2 (MiG-15bis)

The I-310 (first prototype of famous MiG-15) with RD-45 engine (copy of Rolls-Royce "Nene" engine) made its initial flight on December 30, 1947, and deliveries of production models to Soviet Air Force began in 1948. The aircraft was produced under a licensing agreement in Poland (as Lim-1), Czechoslovakia (as S-102) and China. MiG-15 had been provided for a number of Communist satellite nations, including North Korea where it was used against United Nations forces.
The WSK Mielec Lim-1 made its first flight on July 17, 1952, and when production ended in 1954, a 227 Lim-1 had been produced. The production of MiG-15bis (as Lim-2) began on September 17, 1954. It was an improved version of MiG-15 equipped with new VK-1A engine. Up to 1956, a total of 500 Lim-2 had been produced for the Polish Air Force.
